After weeks of emails from every nonprofit we support (and many we’d never heard of), the day is finally here!
Give Miami Day.
What is Give Miami Day you ask? Excellent question!
Give Miami Day is a unique, 24-hour online giving event that allows individuals in our community an opportunity to build a greater Miami by making a charitable gift to a local nonprofit. All gifts will be processed through GiveMiamiDay.org.
The Miami Foundation and its partners have committed an initial monetary pool as incentive dollars to match a percentage of contributions received during Give Miami Day.

So what are you waiting for? I can’t think of a better day to get your philanthropy on!
When I was a kid, my dream was to own the first Starbucks on the moon. It was very simple and straight forward, and like most of my dreams, it was impossible.
As I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned that my dreams exist solely for my amusement and I think that what makes dreams awesome is how unattainable they are.
Actually, the more unattainable the better.
When I hear people say “make your dreams come true,” I find it a little silly and disheartening because dreams should be a private space in our heads. This doesn’t mean that I don’t believe in goals. Actually, I think everyone should work to achieve their aspirations and build the life want. I know I try to do that everyday…
But in dreams the world is different. It’s like going down Alice’s rabbit hole. Unless your dreams are bound and limited by reality (and if this is the case, that’s an unfortunate dream and you better get to work) a dream should put a smile on your face, bring joy to your heart, and give you wings to pursue what is in fact possible to achieve 🙂
Life is hard.
Relationships are hard.
Distance is hard.
Yesterday I spent the entire day flying across the country to spend some time with Hugh. I had barely seen him in the past month and so I’m in San Diego now.
I’d never been to San Diego before and all I can say is that it looks like El Paso, TX but with water. Quite an upgrade if you ask me!
I look forward to exploring it with Hugh and to going home with great stories to tell 🙂
